An American YouTuber from Illinois bought a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro convertible muscle car at half price before restoring it for nearly nothing.
YouTuber LegitStreetCars bought the Camaro RS/SS for a very affordable price due to it being a fire sale.
Yet for well below $1,000, the YouTuber was able to fix the car up and get it looking incredible.
It just goes to show that you can get any auto back on the road with a shoestring budget, even if it’s a classic muscle car.

The YouTuber explained that the Chevrolet Camaro initially sold for $45,000 at a Mecum auction, signifying its desirability.
The reason the previous owner sold it was that the muscle car started to shift badly and not drive properly.
It appeared, however, that the battery was dead, which was also preventing the car from firing up.
In total, the YouTuber paid just $21,500 for the Camaro, which also came with a clean title.
Despite the issues with the transmission, it’s clear the YouTuber was over the moon with his purchase.
Attempts to sort the transmission were made, with the Camaro in serious need of fluid for the power steering.
Driving the car back home, there were clearly issues with the transmission.
The Chevrolet Camaro was stuttering at lower speeds and was very reluctant to change gears.
Misfires also indicated the car’s problems.
And as if that wasn’t enough, there were also a lot of leaks in various parts of the car, mostly on the driveshaft and the power steering system.
Fixing many of these leaks would solve many of the car’s issues, and it wouldn’t come with a heavy repair bill.
Many of the components just needed new seals or nuts and bolts to fix them.
LegitStreetCars also added a new oil filter to the car and gave the engine an oil change, so it now had fresh oil.
After firing up the Camaro, it was clear the work had solved a lot of its problems.

The engine was running much better.
Incredibly, the YouTuber had spent just $300 getting the car to this point.
That makes this particular Chevrolet a real steal and a great find!
