Inside your Rolex is a masterpiece of engineering
Rolex is arguably one of the world’s most luxurious watch brands.
Established in London in 1905, the luxury company is known the world over for its high-grade materials and premium look.
But inside your Rolex, there’s a whole other world lying behind its face.
Rolex has four sites in Switzerland that enable it to manufacture, assemble, and test each masterpiece of engineering to perfection.

“This vision of watchmaking is founded upon seven pillars that shape our identity: precision, self-winding, autonomy, waterproofness, resistance to magnetism, reliability, and durability,” states Rolex itself.
The anatomy of a Rolex is really quite something, too.
From the movement to the cases to the bezels, each part is intricately made and finished.
The dials are available in different finishes and feature a protective bezel, which brings the watch’s waterproof element to life.
The famous fluted bezel was first seen on the Oyster in 1926. And thanks to it being screwed tightly to the case, its presence makes the whole watch waterproof.

The bezel is ‘exclusively fashioned in 18ct gold or 950 platinum’ and the watchmaker has even ‘enhanced its fluting and finish with no less passion than devoted to its functional purpose’.
Plus, we can’t forget the special green seal, which is the ultimate sign of luxury.
Even though it isn’t the hardest part to manufacture, it is one of the most impressive as it ‘carries the promise of unwavering commitment’.
Many celebrities are fans of luxury watches
Thanks to the hefty price tags attached to them, only a select few groups of people can splash their cash on a luxury watch.
Often you’ll find celebrities displaying their wealth on their wrists, such as LeBron James, who collaborated with Richard Mille to unveil a special $405,000 limited-edition watch.
Plus, we can’t forget the time that Mark Zuckerberg wore a $300,000 Rolex to a UFC 313 event.
