In San Francisco you can’t clean your car with underwear
When it comes to driving, there are various laws that motorists must follow.
From highway codes to pedestrian etiquette, there’s lots to think about before you get behind the wheel.
But, in one US city, keeping your car clean is a whole other matter entirely.
Many of us use rags, sponges, and cloths to clean our cars in our spare time, or enlist the help of a car wash.
But, in San Francisco, California, some rag types are banned, and could even end up with police intervention if you were clean your car with them.
In fact, it is simply against the rules to clean your car with underwear, so don’t think about whipping out your smalls anytime soon.
“It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to sell or offer for sale, soiled clothes or rags, or soiled or disused or cast-off underclothing, garments, bedding, bedclothes or parts thereof for use as wiping rags unless the same have been cleansed and sterilized’ stated the legislation.
The rags talked about are those that are used for ‘wiping and cleaning the surfaces of machinery, machines, tools, locomotives, engines, motorcars, automobiles, cars, carriages, windows, furniture and surfaces of articles,’ amongst other things.

San Francisco isn’t the only city with unusual car laws
Every state and city in the US has different ideas as to how drivers and their vehicles should be policed.
From how many tests you should take in order to be awarded a license, to speed that you should travel up.
In fact, drivers in West Virginia could now face 60 days in jail if they don’t slow down and move over.
Plus, a new California ‘Daylighting Law’ could cost residents $80 for parking but confuse other Americans.
So, if we were you, we’d keep your underwear firmly tucked away in a closet and no where near your car and soapy bucket.
