When Jamiroquai’s Jay Kay turned up to a car show in a custom Lamborghini Gallardo, things didn’t go as he hoped.
Jay Kay is a man with a seriously impressive supercar collection to hand.
But when he rocked up to the Bicester Scramble event at Bicester Motion in Oxfordshire, he ended up being turned away.
The interaction was captured on video, but what actually happened?
Jay Kay is a man who knows his cars
His Billboard 100 hits are impressive enough, but then you take a look at his supercar collection.
That takes things to another level.

He’s made an absolute mint selling off some of his more exotic supercars over the years.
Cars linked to the singer over the years include a LaFerrari, a Ferrari Enzo, and even James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5.
Things didn’t go to plan at this car show
YouTuber AdamC3046 was on the scene, filming cars as they arrived at the Bicester Motion Sunday Scramble.
There was a lot of car eye candy on display.
But the real crown jewel was Jay Kay, rocking up in his purple Lamborghini Gallardo.

“I spotted [him] from miles off!” Adam remarked, after the Gallardo passed by.
Despite its dramatic arrival at the roundabout, it got held up at the entrance to the event.

After some delay, Jay Kay turned on his heel – or his wheel, so to speak – and drove away.
“He has been rejected!” Adam exclaimed.
So what actually happened here?
Why were Jay Kay and his Lamborghini Gallardo turned away at the entrance?
In the video’s description, Adam wrote: “For October’s installment, some changes were in place to help with the flow of traffic, which Jay got himself caught up in somewhat…”
What’s this in reference to?
Plenty of people speculated in the comments section, with some questioning whether Jay Kay hadn’t purchased a ticket in advance.
Adam himself took to the comments section to explain further.
“They turned him away from the entrance he always uses, which gets him into the main display section. He was instead directed into public parking,” he wrote.

“I think he did eventually find his way a little closer into the event.”
When contacted for comment, Adam gave more context to the entrance that Jay Kay was trying to enter.
“The entrance he tried is reserved for hand-chosen ‘star cars’ to be displayed in the main section of the show,” Adam told Supercar Blondie.
“They usually require a special ticket and need to arrive early (to ease with crowd control inside the main venue). Jay always uses that entrance and always arrives at a similar time, so I’m not sure why the marshalls turned him away that time.
“He was instead directed to a different entrance, which filters into both showcar and spectator fields.”
In a video shared to Instagram, Jay Kay was shown sounding off about being forced to go into general parking.
Let’s just say, he said something we can’t rewrite here without some censorship.
Guidance posted in January indicated that post-2001 vehicles would be asked to use general parking and would be asked to turn around if they headed for the pre-2001 display areas.
This appears to explain what happened to Jay Kay.
