The legend that is Jamiroquai’s Jason Luís Cheetham, AKA Jay Kay, is a massive supercar fan, and after buying a Ferrari Enzo in 2003, he decided to see just how much profit he could make with the Italian supercar.

The London native has always had a passion for cars and was once the fastest man to ever lap the Top Gear test track on the BBC show.

So it’s little surprise he has owned some spectacular cars over the years, including the Enzo.

After paying just over $500,000 for the car, the profit he made when he sold it was certainly eye-opening.

Jay Kay loved his Ferrari Enzo

The singer bought the Ferrari over 20 years ago, and in 2003, he paid $532,864 for the supercar.

It is one of many cars that the singer has owned over the years.

His Enzo was finished in black-over-green, specifically Nero Metallic black with a Verde leather interior.

This was one of the rarest combinations for the Italian supercar.

Jay Kay actually got a great deal on the car in 2003, as at the time the Enzo could sell for nearly $700,000.

It is easy to see why the singer was so attracted to this particular Italian thoroughbred.

Ferrari used F1 technology to develop what many still believe is the best car they’ve ever made.

A screaming 6.0-liter Tipo F140 B V12 engine under the hood made the experience even better.

Selling the Enzo for a tidy profit

Despite the allure of the car, Jay Kay ultimately decided to sell it.

His car, chassis 132051, was sold relatively recently, for well over the price he paid for it originally.

The singer most likely sold it for over $3 million, as the value of the car has risen massively over the years.

Ironically, the most famous moment for his car came in 2009 after it was vandalized.

A drunk chef at Aldeburgh’s Brudenell Hotel smashed a window on the car with a rock after a spat.

That cost over $10,000 to repair, but at the time, it wasn’t enough to deter the singer from owning it.

Some will see it as a loss that Jay Kay decided to part ways with the supercar.

But he certainly had a good run owning the legendary Ferrari.
