Ladies and gentlemen, the new Jeep Recon EV is officially here.
And it is clearly here to ruffle some feathers.
For one thing, it comes with a 650hp powerplant.
And that’s not even including removable doors and… a duck holder.

The new Jeep Recon EV has (finally) arrived
After much anticipation, the 2026 Jeep Recon EV is finally here.
Interestingly, the Jeep Recon has existed for a while.
The concept was first unveiled all the way back in 2022.
It was released with promises of being offered to customers in 2024.
Obviously, that didn’t actually end up happening.
But it’s here now – and that’s the most important thing.

Straight off the bat, it’s pretty clear what segment of the market the Jeep Recon EV is targeting.
The Recon is a mid-sized two-row SUV designed with off-roading in mind.
Jeep has built the new Recon on its STLA Large vehicle platform.
But it packs some massively impressive numbers to boot.
For one thing, the power output has been increased to an impressive 650hp.
This, alongside 620lb-ft of torque, is provided by the dual-motor powertrain.
It all adds up to a 0-60 time of just 3.6 seconds, as well as a top speed of 112mph.

Unfortunately, such a ruggedly designed SUV does come with some downsides.
The most obvious negative is in the range it provides, or, rather, doesn’t.
An estimated range of just 230 miles is what you can expect.
It’s possible that it’ll be upgraded to 250 miles in future trim offerings, but no details of these are available at the moment.
In terms of charging speed, Jeep claims that the Recon EV will charge from 5-80 percent in about 28 minutes on a DC fast charger.
Interior is somewhere between rugged and luxurious
On the inside, the interior of the Jeep Recon EV looks like a pleasant place to be.
A clear compromise between luxurious comfort and rugged outdoorsiness has been attempted.
Jeep has included a large infotainment touch screen in the middle of the dash.
There are still several knobs and buttons to control a variety of things.
But, like most modern cars, Jeep has clearly prioritized operations from the 14.5-inch screen.
Being a Jeep, storage is very much inherent in the new EV offering.
It even comes with completely removable doors.
The 65.9 cubic-foot cargo area is accessed via a swing gate.
Jeep has also fitted a modular accessory rail on the instrument panel.
This is perfect for navigation devices, mounted cameras – and even as a rubber duck holder.
Of course, this is part of the ‘ducking’ or ‘duck duck Jeep’ trend of securely mounting a small rubber duck on the dashboard or the roll bar.

But in case that’s not enough, the brand has also provided a frunk big enough to fit one suitcase.
Okay – so the new Jeep Recon EV is powerful, fast, and spacious.
But how much will all of this set you back?
Well, that’s going to be $66,995 including delivery – at least for the Moab variant available during the launch.
It will be manufactured in Mexico, with the initial rollout expected to be across North America.
But the ultimate goal is to sell the new Jeep Recon EV across the world.
We will watch with eagerness to see if the new EV SUV is popular.
