Jeremy Clarkson once raced a Bugatti Chiron against a BMW M4 just to make a point.

Because the thing is, the M4 is a very fast car.

But the Chiron is even faster.

In the end, the gap was so wide it was unbelievable.

The BMW got annihilated by the Chiron that Jeremy Clarkson was driving

In a Grand Tour episode from a few years ago, Jeremy Clarkson had a drag race against a BMW M4 just to prove that the Bugatti Chiron he was driving was a thousand times faster than anything else.

The idea was to show viewers the difference between a very competent high-performance car, which is what the BMW M4 is, and a hypercar.

That’s like pitting a very good Sunday League team against Real Madrid.

They’re still going to lose, and they’re going to lose bigly.

And that’s exactly what happened in the race.

In the end, the Chiron crossed the line about three seconds ahead of the BMW M4.

In a drag race, that’s an eon.

What happened to the Grand Tour?

Contrary to what most people assumed, the Grand Tour is set to continue with new presenters.

The news came as a surprise to Grand Tour fans, mainly because everyone remembers what happened with Top Gear.

In 2015, less than one year after the infamous Porsche 928 license plate controversy, the BBC indirectly fired Clarkson.

Although, technically they said they simply didn’t renew his contract. But, as a consequence, they also lost Hammond and May.

The trio moved on to the greener, both figuratively and literally, considering the bigger budget, pastures with Prime Video, and the BBC carried on with Top Gear for a few more years.

But it wasn’t smooth sailing.

The ratings were significantly lower, and the BBC went through a few ‘sets’ of presenters before finding the right team.

Clarkson, Hammond, and May remained at the helm of Top Gear for 21 consecutive seasons, but after they left, the BBC had eight presenters in just 10 seasons simply because the chemistry was no longer there.

As for the ‘new’ Grand Tour, Amazon has decided to carry on with three new presenters that are relatively unknown, which, incidentally or not, is actually what Clarkson had suggested.

Time will tell.
