Jeremy Clarkson makes surprise return to Grand Tour in show reboot

So The Grand Tour is back, with new hosts James Engelsman, Thomas Holland and Francis Bourgeois taking over the car show from Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond.
With the new series dropping, there was a brief appearance by Clarkson at the start of it, with the new presenters visiting his pub.
As they visited the pub, they dropped into the Grand Tour tent that is now used as a butchers.
It was here that they met Clarkson, who offered them a little bit of advice on how to begin the show.
What the opening moments of The Grand Tour showed us
In the opening segment of the show, the trio arrive at The Farmers Dog, the pub Clarkson opened in 2024.
The three new presenters head into the large tent at the pub, which was once the studio for the Amazon show.
It is here that they meet Clarkson, and after asking if they can use the tent, he comes back with a predictable answer.
“I mean, you could, but it’s got a butchers…I mean, I want to help, but it’s been repurposed,” said Clarkson.
He then offered some friendly advice to the three men now entrusted with his show.
“Seriously, have fun with this. I mean it. And don’t f*** it up,” he said.
His final message is directed at the audience watching along at home.
“I have been watching what they have been up to, and I think you are going to love it.”
It is a new era for the Amazon show
Clarkson, alongside May and Hammond, will all be making cameo appearances in the show’s new series.
Producer Andy Willman has said it felt right, as it was time to pass on the baton, so to speak.
The three amigos, who of course presented Top Gear for many years, stepped down from their big adventures in 2024.
Thomas Holland and James Englesman are well known in the automotive universe.
The two friends have worked together for years, hosting videos for their YouTube channel Throttle House.
Francis Bourgeois, meanwhile, is Britain’s most viral trainspotter, but he is also a lover of cars.
The first six episodes of their Grand Tour journey were released on September 4 2026, on Prime Video.
