The 2008 Saab 9-7X Aero never quite made much of an impact in America. But after finding one abandoned, this Kansas man let his inner demons win.
When Saab made the 9-7X, in collaboration with General Motors, the Swedish manufacturers specifically targeted the American audience.
The land of freedom and opportunity resisted the European brand though, even with General Motors’ input.
But after finding a Saab 9-7X Aero at auction, this Kansas man just had to buy it.

BMW and Audi are arguably the biggest European brands to make a chink in the American market. But even they couldn’t really lay a finger on cars from brands like Chevrolet.
Saab specifically hasn’t been majorly successful in the US, with many dealerships becoming graveyards.
Its noughties attempt saw them rocking the Saab 9-7X Aero, a luxury mid-size SUV. That, though, came to nothing as the Chevy Trailblazer reigned supreme.
Still, one Kansas man recently found a decent-looking Saab 9-7X at auction and bought it for a paltry $9,000, even though he hated every penny that he parted with.

The car is described by YouTuber Tyler Hoover, AKA Hoovies Garage, as in ‘good condition’ and under the hood, it has all the staple General Motors influences and was almost identical to the Chevy Trailblazer.
Its only differences were a typically European grille and an updated interior making the SUV slightly more luxurious.
The $9,000 price tag was appealing to the Kansas native, as a Trailblazer is usually priced in the ‘low teens’, meaning you get the same car with a few European quirks for less than a normal Chevy.

Unfortunately, the car lived most of its life on the rough terrain in Ohio, and even the fiercest jeeps suffer there.
The car did have quite a significant amount of rust underneath and a leak in the exhaust.
Still, it drove well with its LS2 V8 engine pumping 390hp through its veins. Despite not being made for power and speed, it turned out to be quite a speedy ride for a car of that size.
Hopefully, this 9-7X Aero will stay away from defunct Saab dealerships and live a life that very few of these cars were able to, thanks to that man from Kansas.
