While visiting Ashland, Kentucky, one man spotted an automotive marvel in the parking lot – a custom car sitting on 50-inch wheels.
He called it a ‘dinosaur in the wild,’ and instantly wanted to take it home, filming the whole thing in a short clip posted to Instagram.
“Man, this thing used to be a classic back in the days,” he said.
“She’s still looking good, still looking right.”

The pawn shop donk with 50-inch wheels
The car was planted outside the Tri State Pawn & Jewelry shop like a street sculpture, fitted with towering 50-inch wire wheels. Clearly not made to roll, but it’s a show-stopper all the same.
Often called a ‘donk,’ this style usually refers to old-school American cars lifted sky-high on oversized wheels – more show than go, and proud of it.
“I know the tires ain’t functional, but imagine if they would,” the OP said.

Instagram didn’t hold back.
One person called it ‘the last car to travel the Oregon Trail.’ Someone else said it looked like it was ‘sportin’ Donkey Kong.’
But the guy filming wasn’t laughing.
“This is making me want to go back and go on those big rims, man,” he said.
Kentucky knows how to lift a car for attention
This isn’t even the first time Kentucky has put a car on a pedestal – literally.
Dealer Larry Bennett once hoisted a real Dodge Viper 42 feet into the air to advertise his lot – right there in Kentucky. Later, he pulled a similar stunt in Indiana, lifting a brand-new Chevy Corvette onto a 60-foot sign.
Totally impractical. Totally unforgettable. Just like this pawn shop donk.

There’s a whole category of car builds that don’t care about driveability. They’re built to be stared at, and photographed in disbelief.
And this guy on Instagram? He didn’t just stare. “I’m gonna try to see if this guy will end up selling it to me, ’cause I definitely want to take it home,” he said.
No idea if he got it. But we wouldn’t be surprised if he’s still trying.
