Kia has ventured into the world of fragrance with a gasoline‑scented air freshener especially for EVs.
There’s no hiding the recent shift in the car world that has made electric cars the top choice, but in the process of creating EVs, some things have been lost, like the smell of filling up your tank.
However, for a limited time, the smell could fill your cabin without the need for a gas engine.
It’s all down to one perfumer who conjured up the recipe for success, more commonly known as EV ownership.

Forget Febreeze, it’s all about the scent of gasoline
Every driver aims to have a fresh-scented car, but over in Europe, one country has taken things to a new level.
Kia Finland has announced that its EVs will benefit from a rather unique in-cabin smell of gasoline.
Yes, you read that right.
Gas in an electric car.
However, there’s a catch – the air freshener is only available for buyers of a certain model.
Kia Finland shared the news via social media with a number of posts explaining the new product.
“A quick help for a permanent change in driving habits.
“A gasoline‑scented air freshener relieves acute withdrawal symptoms during the transition from a combustion engine to electricity,” it stated in a translated post.

You have to admit, the smell of fuel is popular among gearheads, but those with EVs no longer get to experience it.
So, some gearheads may just be delighted with this news.
However, as with anything good, there is a slight catch.
“Limited stock available for a limited time for buyers of the new Kia EV4,” the car brand further explained.
So, alas, it is not for all drivers worldwide.
Perfumer Max Perttula was given the challenge of making the fragrance that is said to consist of a motor oil base, galbanum, and jasmine.
The gasoline‑scented air freshener is all part of owning a new Kia EV4
The EV4 is the brand’s first ‘dedicated electric vehicle’, so to help the journey from gas to EV, the genius idea of the gasoline scent was created.

The car has both hatchback and fastback versions, with 388 miles of range that go alongside aerodynamic features.
So, it’s good news all round as Kia moves to EVs, but still keeps the iconic smell of gas in the air.
“We wanted to add a touch of nostalgic fun to the transition with a gas-scented car freshener,” Astara Auto Finland’s Commercial Director Klaus Pohjala said, according to Electrek.
But remember, be quick if you want to purchase it – it won’t be around forever.
