Extending its flagship series, the new EV2 electric SUV is set to be unveiled officially at the turn of the year, as Kia announces its world premiere will be at the Brussels Motor Show 2026.

Kia has found mass success with its EV lineup, producing six different models under the series.

Now, the fully-electric fleet is set to expand, as the ‘number two’ is pulling into the Korean dealerships.

Set to arrive fully in 2026, the Kia EV2 electric SUV will be previewed in January.

Kia offers a sneak look at EV2 electric SUV ahead of 2026 Premiere

In today’s news, the brand shared the first image of the electric SUV and revealed that it will debut on January 9 in Brussels.

The Kia EV2 will mark the seventh car in the award-winning lineup, which is typically headlines by the nippy EV6 GT.

In an image shared with the press, the new Kia appears to follow in the footsteps of other cars in the EV range, with its defined outline having its flat backside and bulky hood.

It will join the EV3 and EV9 as SUVs, the latter of which stands out because of its funky wheels.

But the EV2 electric SUV is set to make the fleet more ‘accessible’. In layman’s terms, it won’t cost as much.

“With the EV2, we reaffirm our commitment to make electric mobility truly accessible to a broader audience – without compromise,” Kia Europe President & CEO Marc Hedrich said.

“This compact SUV delivers the innovation and the spirit of our larger EVs while fitting seamlessly into everyday life in Europe.

“Designed, developed, and soon to be produced in Europe, we are confident that the EV2 will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of responsible mobility across the region.”

What can we expect to see?

The Korean brand has already released concept designs of the EV2 in the past, and has made promises that it will differentiate from the EV3 and EV9 through its lighting.

But as for the powertrain, that remains a mystery.

It is set to sit on the same architecture as the other SUVs in the EV-number range, which suggests that it could have a similar power output to the 201hp front motor of the EV3, boasting a 375-mile range.

It will be operating underneath the EV3, which means its price will also undercut the $43,500 ticket price.

Mark January 9 off in the calendar, Kia fans.
