This LA doctor managed to create a $1.1m supercar so unique that people thought it made zero sense.

The Youabian Puma is the brainchild of Dr Kambiz Youabian, a physician in his day-to-day life.

And going by the reactions this car has received, many people will be telling the good doctor to stick to his day job.

If there’s one thing you can say about this $1.1m supercar, it’s that it gets people talking.

This $1.1M supercar is the work of an LA doctor

Cast your mind back to 2013.

Miley Cyrus is rocking a pixie cut, One Direction is still together, and Gangnam Style is just about clinging onto relevancy.

But it was at the Los Angeles Auto Show that something particularly strange was happening – the unveiling of the Youabian Puma.

This car was years of hard work.

Dr Youabian had initially been making a sports car, but caught wind that they were losing favor, so decided to convert it to a monster truck supercar.

If there were a word for the Puma, it’d be unique.

Even though it’s meant to be a supercar, it’s huge – measuring 240 inches from top to tail, and eight feet wide.

At roughly the same size as a Ford F-250, this Puma was more like a lion.

Whilst it’s certainly unique, universally beloved it is not.

Over on Reddit, people had a lot to say about the car.

One person likened it to a Bionicle, while another suggested the car had been stung by a bee.

However, the car did have its fans.

“This is essentially a piece of art on wheels, right? $1 million for a car that surely isn’t worth that in terms of today’s performance standards. I like it. Different cars always make me happy,” one user wrote.

The Puma isn’t the only car with a unique look

We’ve seen a lot of cars over the years that have stood out from the crowd.

There was the Outspan Orange, which is literally shaped like the fruit of the same name.

And then we had the ‘banana peel’ Honda Civic EG.

And who could forget the nuclear-powered car that was quite literally a WTF concept?
