This driver in LA got a $2k repair bill from a dealership, but in a miraculous turn of events, he managed to sort it all out for $50.
When leasing and returning cars, sometimes elements come with serious expenses attached.
From simple wear and tear to serious dents and damage, things need to be fixed upon the vehicle’s return.
But, after one man was left with a $2k repair bill from a dealership, he simply wasn’t having it.

There are two options when it comes to getting your hands on a car: you can either buy it outright or lease it.
But leasing can sometimes come with issues, which is what this driver found out for himself.

Content creator jeff.for explained how he was given an expensive bill after returning his leased car.
“I went to return my leased car today,” he explained.
“I get to the dealership, and they’re like, ‘Okay, great. We know you already sent in photos. We sent it to our team for the lease returns. This is how much you owe for excessive damage, and like wear and tear.”
But the numbers that followed were a shock.
“The bill was $2,000. It was $2,200. And I literally was like, I’m not paying that,” he continued.
The creator explained that he had been driving the car for three years, but a $1,300 scuff charge and a $600 bill to remove the tint on his windows, alongside another $200 was where he drew the line.

Luckily, he managed to sort out the issues at hand for just $50 by finding a body shop that fixed his scuff for free and a tint shop that removed it for just $50.
“You mean to tell me I just paid $50 for the $2,000 they were about to charge me. Get the f**k out of here,” he exclaimed.
Online users were concerned about the repair bill
“Leasing is definitely a scam,” said one user.
“Highly recommend trading your lease in (even before the contract is up) they can’t hit you with those inspection costs. Best if you’re leasing, a Toyota or Honda, because they don’t depreciate as fast,” said another gearhead.
“And I bet they lost you as a return customer because of their greed,” commented another user.
It’s not all bad, though, as some dealerships can be useful.
For example, one man from Pennsylvania found the very last manual Volkswagen GTI sitting at a dealership in Montana.
Plus, an abandoned dealership in Chicago has some hidden million-dollar cars in almost perfect condition, cool, right?
At least the TikTokker managed to sort out his issues in a way that didn’t make his wallet cry.
