A Lamborghini Aventador SV supercar and a Hyundai Ioniq 5 N EV have gone head-to-head in a drag race with some surprising results.
The Aventador is one of the world’s fastest supercars, while the Ioniq 5 N is the sportier version of Hyundai’s impressive Ioniq 5 EV.
Mat Watson from carwow set the cars against each other in a series of drag races, and there were some very surprising results between the two cars.
It is the latest drag race to see whether EVs can hold their own against ICE cars.

Both are incredibly powerful cars.
The Lamborghini Aventador SV supercar has a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 under the hood.
That engine makes 750HP, and its all-wheel drive ensures it can fly off the line.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, meanwhile, has 650HP from its two electric motors, and it too has all-wheel drive.
But the Ioniq 5 EV is heavier, much heavier in fact, which counted against it in the races.
In the first race, though, both cars were very close off the line.
The Lamborghini could only slowly inch ahead.
It was only as the Ioniq reached its top speed that it pulled into a slightly bigger lead.
The second race saw the Lamborghini get a much better launch off the line, however.
That meant the Ioniq 5 N couldn’t give it a fight, but it was still quite close.
After the standing start races, the cars took part in a carwow rolling race.
Mat, who was driving the Hyundai, pressed the power boost button as he launched, and the Ioniq flew away.
At the 1/4 mile, the Ioniq 5 N was ahead, but it had only just gotten in front at the 1/2 mile mark.

The drag races showed just how powerful and fast the Ioniq 5 N can be.
The second rolling drag race also saw a close start, but the Aventador SV easily rocketed away.
It is, however, very impressive to see just how well the Hyundai can hold its own against a full-blown supercar.
For anyone who isn’t sure about how fast EVs can be, these drag races show they can be very, very fast indeed.
