A Tesla Cybertruck took on the Lamborghini Aventador in an epic half-mile drag race in Puerto Rico.

The race was shown a few months ago on the DragTimes YouTube channel, pitting the famous electric truck against the McLaren supercar.

The Cybertruck was in Cyberbeast form, meaning it had as much horsepower as possible to play with.

The race showed just how powerful the Cybertruck is, and it was a perfect display of gasoline versus electric power.

Cybertruck versus Aventador is a fascinating contest

The Cybertruck in Cyberbeast mode has three electric motors under the hood, giving it 850hp.

Add in all-wheel drive and the instant torque, and it puts the electric truck in a good position.

The Lamborghini supercar meanwhile has a mighty 6.5-liter V12 under the hood.

That screaming engine produces 740hp, over 100hp less than the Cyerbeast.

However, the Cybertruck would top out sooner than the Aventador, meaning the Lamborghini could scream right past it.

DragTimes aimed to pass the Cybertruck before it reached its top speed.

The drag race took place from a standing start, which played right into the hands of the truck.

The YouTuber messed up the start in the Lamborghini

The YouTuber didn’t get the best start in the Lamborghini and bogged down as the truck pulled away.

But the Tesla topped out at its 130mph maximum speed.

The Aventador then pulled the truck in and easily flew by despite the poor start.

With a higher top speed for the supercar, there was no way the truck could hold back its rival once it got going.

The YouTuber acknowledged the wheelspin at the start, adding he nearly had to come off the throttle.

The supercar completed the half-mile in 17.48 seconds, with a top speed of 156.85mph when it crossed the line.

DragTimes also raced the 1,015hp hybrid Revuelto against the truck, to see how that fared.

This time, the Revuelto got a better start and roared past the Cybertruck before it reached its 130mph top speed.

The races proved that while EVs are fast off the line, they can be reeled in over distance.
