What you’re seeing here is a 25th Anniversary Lamborghini Countach, one of the rarest iterations of an already very rare car.

It was unveiled in 1988 for the company’s 25th birthday, and only around 658 were built.

This is one of the last ones that left the factory all those years ago.

And it just sold for a huge sum on SBX Cars.

This Lamborghini Countach 80s icon from a bygone era

Launched in 1988 as a 1989 model, the 25th Anniversary Lamborghini Countach was the product of a different era.

Back then, automakers were pragmatic.

Performance meant a lot more than clout and Instagram virality.

For that reason, the 25th Anniversary was technically very different while being aesthetically similar.

Among other things, it had larger intake ducts, remodeled fins, and a modified engine-bay cover.

Perhaps the biggest visual giveaway was the new rear bumper.

The engine is Lambo’s iconic naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V12, delivering a grand total of 420hp to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual, also paired to a limited-slip differential.

It did 0-60 in 4.7 seconds and had a top speed of 183mph (295km/h).

How this example in mint condition sold for $604,000 on SBX Cars

The vehicle you see here is a low-mileage example, with 2,977 miles on the odometer.

It also comes with an unblemished service history, and it’s, of course, in perfect condition.

It’s good to go, although we don’t know whether the new owner will choose to drive it or store it as a collectible.

Finished in Rosso Siviglia over tan leather, this Lambo is a left-hand drive vehicle, and even though it’s an EU-spec car, it was sold in New Jersey.

Only 658 were ever produced, and they’re getting harder to find, especially in this condition.

Generally speaking, $644,000 (the amount it fetched on SBX Cars) is an excellent price for a Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary for both the seller and the buyer.

It’s technically above average, but in the world of auctions, the real world doesn’t always coincide with on-paper estimates.
