Lamborghini might just have revealed some future plans that will delight brand purists.
The brand is often a refuge for the true petrolhead who seeks a thrilling drive.
A lot of purists pine for elite performance in the setup of Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD).
Not only is Lamborghini refusing to rule out RWD, it’s just teased another major change to its future lineup.

Whata Lamborghini is saying about RWD
Bologna’s premier supercar brand currently offers the Urus SUV, as well as its flagship supercars.
Meanwhile, the plug-in hybrid Revuelto and Temerario are shaping the Lamborghini brand of the future.
However, supercar purists mainly want the one thing the Temerario doesn’t offer – RWD.
At the moment, the Temerario has a three electric-motor setup as part of its artillery.

Two electric motors sit in the front, and a third is placed between the twin-turbo, 4.0-litre V8 and the automatic gearbox.
Dropping those two electric motors at the front would shift the focus of the Temerario to RWD.
This would align its philosophy much more closely with the much-beloved Huracan.
And Bologna’s premier marque appears to be refusing to rule out that possibility.
Could a budget, RWD Temerario be coming from Bologna?
Rouven Mohr, Chief Technical Officer of the brand, recently sat down for an interview with Car Magazine, during which he pointed to a possibly cheaper, simpler, RWD version of the Temerario.
“I’m not saying in the future you couldn’t see a 2WD version of the street car, and then perhaps a different kind of hybridisation,” he said.
Mr Mohr then pointed to the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS as the example of an understated application of hybrid technology.
It is, according to Mohr, ‘a super example of a completely different hybrid approach’.
Mohr was also asked if Lamborghini would ever consider an ICE-only Temerario offshoot.

“I would not completely exclude a non-hybrid, but it’s not on the priority list. The probability is quite low, never say never, but at the moment, we have a lot of other things to do, and I would not bet my money on it.”
Could this mean that Lamborghini is working on moving back to a RWD philosophy?
It would certainly be amazing news for purists.
