After having the best day ever recorded in the financial market, Oracle owner Larry Ellison has now overtaken Elon Musk as the world’s richest man.
Overnight, Larry Ellison just increased his wealth by 50 percent.
Imagine that: you go to sleep and wake up with your bank account topped up by half of what you already had.
It comes fresh off the back of Oracle’s latest company projections, as Larry Ellison made $101 billion in a matter of hours thanks to his 41 percent share.

The world’s richest man just got a whole lot richer
As a huge stakeholder in software giant Oracle, celebrity business tycoon Larry Ellison has been on a charge in the financial market in 2025.
He only took over Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg in the rich list rankings in July, moving past both billionaire stalwarts in one swoop.
It’s clear to see that he’s a wizard in business, making over 2,000 percent profit on his McLaren supercar a month ago.
His company, Oracle, has been on a charge this year, as the AI-powered cloud computing industry has erupted.
With yesterday’s forecast, the stock soared by 38 percent, and Larry Ellion saw his net worth land at $393 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Forbes’ own reputable list still shows Elon Musk as the world’s richest man, valued at $440 billion, some $60 billion more than Bloomberg.
Yesterday’s price hike in the billionaire market was also the wealthiest day ever recorded for the billionaires.
Elon Musk usurped by Larry Ellison
Losing out on his crown is Elon Musk. While his wealth has been on a steady incline lately, he has suffered some setbacks.
Notably, he lost $12 billion in one night in July, as the Tesla owner dumped a meme coin and lost a fortune.
With the EV industry now plateauing, it’s highly likely that Oracle boss Larry Ellison will remain as the world’s richest man for some time.

Oracle could continue to soar on the stock market and make Larry Ellison even richer, which, following a $101 billion day, would break all kinds of records.
