This man visited Vancouver’s newly built Las Vegas-style Sphere – and played video games on it.
YouTuber Linus Tech Tips was a big fan of the Las Vegas Sphere, but its pricey tickets and location were an issue.
Fortunately for him, there was an alternative closer to home – the Dome in Vancouver.
And what better way to make use of such technology than to play video games on it?

This YouTuber paid a visit to Vancouver’s Las Vegas-style Sphere
The Dome is Vancouver’s first spherical immersive theatre, housed in the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre.
Decked out with 20,000 watts of Dolby Atmos surround sound, state-of-the-art laser systems, and 10K resolution visuals, this is a phenomenal slice of escapism.

Whether it’s a Pink Floyd visual extravaganza or a space show, there’s something for everyone to marvel at.
There’s even going to be a Taylor Swift event there if that’s more your speed.
At any rate, this sphere is large and in charge, and it’s perfect if you want a Las Vegas-style Sphere without Las Vegas prices – or having to fly to Las Vegas.
Not that we don’t love the Sphere; it was hysterical when it was photographed ‘reacting’ to planes taking off.
And what’s not to love about the robot tours going on there?
Linus Tech Tips took his subscribers on a backstage tour around the Dome, where it was apparent that some upgrades were underway.

For a start, about 70 years of dust would need to be cleaned out from behind the perforated panels to allow for acoustic transparency.
Not that people taking in the dazzling sights of our universe or bopping along to The Dark Side of the Moon would be privy to that.
But Linus’ visit did allow him to experience something that very few visitors get to enjoy – a gaming session.
A gaming experience like no other
Attaching a gaming PC to the stitching computer, Linus and his pals were able to project video games onto the sphere itself.
It looked stretched out on the screen and gave off a 3D vibe.

“It kind of looks like it’s coming towards us,” Linus’ friend said, looking up at the Cyberpunk 2077 logo.
But flawed as it may be, it was still a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
“I’ve gamed on some wild displays, but this is new,” Linus commented.
“Theoretically, this is the same as sitting closer to a smaller screen…and yet it’s not.”
If there’s anyone who knows his way around a game console, it’s Linus.
He is on a mission to buy every PlayStation ever made, after all.

Linus probably said it best when he described gaming in the Dome as a ‘larger than life’ experience.
To do the Dome justice, they invited in a bunch of friends to watch The Dark Side of the Moon experience, which looked breathtaking.
If you want to see what all the fuss is about, pay a visit to Linus Tech Tips to see the Dome for yourself.
