With Marty McFly and Doc Brown back in the cockpit, a LEGO DeLorean has been announced, and the Back to the Future set arrived as one of the cheapest car models yet.

There are few more iconic vehicles in showbiz than the Back to the Future DeLorean.

The McFly and Brown duo crafted an incredible machine from an already eye-catching, futuristic car.

Now, this big-screen icon is being immortalised in block form as the LEGO DeLorean is coming in 2026.

LEGO DeLorean will be a cheap Christmas money pickup

Hot off the back of the LEGO Lightning McQueen, the block-building company has set its sights on the Back to the Future franchise.

Based on the 1985 film and its sequel four years later, the Speed Champions Time Machine has been broken down to 357 pieces that can be reconstructed in two different ways.

Whether you prefer the lightning hook look from the OG film or the flying hovercraft vibe from the sequel, the LEGO DeLorean parts can fit either way.

Two minifigures of Marty and Doc also feature, topping off this awesome little kit.

And it all comes at the menial price of $30.69.

To put that into perspective, other LEGO cars, such as the McLaren P1, Lamborghini Sian FKP 37, and Ferrari Daytona SP3, reach over $500.

Even other movie franchise replicas have landed at significantly higher prices, showing how much of a bargain the LEGO DeLorean is.

Mario’s kit, for example, is five times as expensive.

But, there are some evenly-priced kits too, such as the Fast & Furious R34 GT-R, featuring Brian O’Conner (the character played by the late Paul Walker).

What happened to the original Back to the Future car?

The DeLorean, despite standing on its own four wheels as quite a cool car way ahead of its own generation, is inherently linked to the Back to the Future franchise now.

Multiple cars were used in filming, all of which ended up with different legacies.

Cast all over America from Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, to the Peterson Museum in Los Angeles, the four official replicas are quite indicative of the Speed Champions Time Machine itself: never truly satisfied with one era and place.

There are some incredible replicas on display, too.

However, unless you have a cool $750k lying around to get the ‘perfect replica‘, the $30 LEGO DeLorean seems to be the way forward.
