American tuner Lingenfelter Performance Engineering has announced a Chevrolet Corvette upgrade that could give the C8 Corvette sports car more power than a hypercar.
Lingenfelter is one of the best Chevy Corvette tuners in America and has regularly extracted a whole heap of performance from the American sports car.
A new 427ci twin-turbo V8 is coming from them for the Corvette, and it is set to release over 1,000HP for the car, which is a huge jump from the standard output.
Based on what the tuners are saying, we won’t have long to wait before they release this amazing upgrade.

Lingenfelter recently unveiled a naturally aspirated version of the Chevrolet 427ci V8.
This was a 7.0-liter engine that already gave the sports car a whole ton of extra power.
But this new twin-turbocharged version is even mightier, delivering at least 1,300HP.
The engine is based on the LT2 V8.
This is the engine you can find in the standard C8 Stingray, as well as the E-Ray hybrid.
According to the company itself, an early development mule has already completed a major testing program.
The current plan is to wait for warmer weather before giving the engine a final calibration.
After this, the LT2 upgrade will be made available, and the upgrade package starts at around $30,000.
But there’s more as well.
Should you opt for the upgrades, then the engine will set you back $35,000.
These optional upgrades include a revised intake manifold, throttle body, and exhaust system.
Lingenfelter has explained that the massive extra cost is because of the upgrades required for the car’s fuel system, as well as other hardware.
The company has also based the layout of its new turbo system around the upcoming LT7 V8 for the twin-turbo Corvette ZR1.
For context, the naturally aspirated upgrade the Lingenfelter makes already provides 700HP.

That means the twin-turbocharged upgrade almost doubles the power output of the C8 Corvette.
There is currently no release date confirmed, but testing appears to be at an advanced stage.
Unsurprisingly, Corvette enthusiasts are incredibly excited about this massive upgrade package.
The C8 Chevrolet Corvette is already an amazing car, and this extra power will make it even more potent.
