Exotic private island featured in Pirates of the Caribbean listed for $100m

Powder white stretches of beaches, turquoise waters and luscious verdant jungle.

Those are the words used to describe Little Pipe Cay in the Bahamas.

The stunning private island could be yours as it’s up for sale – that’s if you’ve got $100 million going spare.

Little Pipe Cay is actually one of 365 islands in the Exumas, a 130-long archipelago in the Bahamas.

None quite have the reputation this little private island does, though; it’s been the shooting location for some of Hollywood’s biggest blockbuster movies.

The private island was seen in Johnny Depp’s Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and the James Bond film ‘Casino Royale’.

So, what exactly do you get for $100 million?

For starters, the private island boasts 40-acres of paradise.

Basically, lush jungle terrain surrounded by pristine waters referred to by locals as ‘Bombay-Sapphire Blue’.

The island’s also got its own luxury resort with five residences, a spa, and an Olympic-length infinity swimming pool.

Really, what more could you ask for…

The main residence is a 5,000 sq. ft colonial-style property, surrounded by four guest houses, all connected by romantic winding paths.

Handy, as the new owner will undoubtedly be inundated with eager guests, keen to experience first-hand the luxury of staying on a tropical private island.

In total, the accommodation offers 11 bedrooms and equates to 22,099 sq. ft of living space, with each cottage fully equipped and self-contained.

Also included in the sale are accommodation for staff and a 24-hour security service.

And if you were wondering how you’d get to your new home, there’s a few options.

There’s a private helipad or, if you prefer to travel by seas, then the private deep water dock – a rarity in these parts – can accommodate superyachts.

The extra-long mooring berth means there’s plenty of space for boats of any size, and the seaplane dock allows the new owners and guests to arrive via both air and sea at their leisure.

Speaking of which, new owners could also rent the luxury resort, with current rates falling somewhere between $75,000 and $95,000 per night (yes, you read that right).

The $100 million price tag for Little Pipe Cay is reportedly the most expensive public listing for a private island in the Bahamas.

There’s a total of 75 Bahamian islands on the market that have an asking price between half a million dollars and $62 million.

All are leaseholds, however, Little Pipe Cay is a freehold island, which means the byer would actually own the property.
