A super wealthy owner had a $1 million luxury yacht delivered for it to immediately and dramatically sink 15 minutes after launch.
The luxury yacht was named Dolce Vento, and valued between $940,000 and $1 million, so the fact that it immediately sank was very depressing.
Dolce Vento capsized and slipped beneath the waves off the coast of Zonguldak’s Eregli district in northern Turkey, shortly after being delivered from Istanbul.
Everyone on board managed to abandon ship, and there were no injuries or casualties. But there was certainly a casualty in the form of the pockets of the owner, who owned a yacht for such a short amount of time.

On Tuesday, the Turkish Coast Guard and port authorities responded to the sinking of a very expensive superyacht called Dolce Vento just off the coast of northern Turkey.
Not only is this very disappointing for the owner of the superyacht, which is said to have cost between $940,000 and $1 million. But it also sank on its maiden launch.
After only 15 minutes of sailing, the vessel began to dramatically tilt.
Then it fell over and sank beneath the waves. Some analysts believe that there was a possible stability issue, like a miscalculation of the yacht’s metacentric height.

As the ship started sinking, the owner, captain, and two crew members were on board. But all four managed to jump overboard as the vessel began to tilt, and everyone swam to shore unharmed.
The incident went viral online, with the internet’s reaction ranging from sympathy for the owner and crew to sharp humor, like the comment:
“Congrats on unlocking the world’s most expensive diving board.”
One thing is for sure: this has to win some sort of record for the shortest-lived superyacht ownership ever.
