This British YouTuber was fulfilling a promise to his wife that they needed to get a truck for odd jobs and transporting things and he picked this crusty abandoned Peugeot that was discovered in a bush.

Instead of shelling out for a brand new truck, he went on eBay and filtered his search by lowest price and – lo and behold – he was presented with this crusty old bush find.

The car’s front wheel was seized up and the truck body was heavily rusted – the content creator was convinced it wouldn’t run.

The next question after whether it will run is whether he can bring this pile of junk back from the dead to make it roadworthy.

Finding a crusty abandoned Peugeot in a bush

For anyone else, the state of this crusty abandoned Peugeot would put them right off, but for Nino from the Not Economically Viable YouTube channel, this is his bread and butter.

His wife thought that he needed a new truck to carry around all of the things he needed for his YouTube channel, and instead of looking at a brand-new one, he decided to take a different approach.

He went onto eBay and searched the word ‘truck’ and filtered by cheapest price.

Enter his new – and incredibly old – 1989 Peugeot 504 pickup truck that has been abandoned in a field for 15-20 years.

A bush had grown around the old abandoned truck, which made it potentially even more damaged.

Bringing the 1989 Peugeot 504 pickup truck back to life

When the Peugeot was successfully freed from its bushy prison, it became clear that the front wheel was seized up and restricted movement.

Using penetrating fluid, Nino worked on freeing the rusty wheel and eventually got it spinning freely.

Upon further examining the truck, he found extreme rust damage, holes in the bodywork, a deteriorated chassis, and that the truck bed had collapsed.

Other than that, it was fine though – honestly.

The Peugeot pickup still had its keys in the ignition and 97,154 miles on the odometer, which caused Nino to suspect it was abandoned in a rush.

There’s definitely a story there, but it’s one we might never know.

The engine shockingly worked and he got the oil and fuel system serviced.

After these extra changes, the truck idles poorly, but the engine still managed to run.

Nino attempted to restore the brakes and clutch, but the brakes barely function. It looks like Nino’s next job is trying to make this hunk of junk roadworthy.

Watch the video here and see him try and attempt to bring the truck back to life.
