A man made an unexpected discovery when he unboxed two refurbished iPhones from Temu, the popular online marketplace.

The Chinese marketplace generally tends to get poor reviews, thanks to cheap and poor-quality products, even if the prices for some items are very tempting.

But it has recently started to offer refurbished iPhones, and YouTuber Phone Repair Guru wanted to see what they were like straight out of the box.

He bought two iPhone 14 Pros from the site to assess them, and the results of this took him by surprise in a big way.

What is inside the box of the refurbished iPhones from Temu?

The YouTuber looked at two iPhones from Temu.

While the phone was packed into its box simply with bubble wrap, the first signs were good.

The first iPhone had an OEM peel on the front and looked to be in perfect condition.

There was also a charging socket and cable, and while they were third-party, at least they were included.

Tell-tale signs that it was a refurbished phone came from the dirt around the side and a few minor scuffs.

Other than that, however, the phone looked good.

Even the screen was excellent behind the screen protector, with just minor scratches.

Phone Repair Guru tested the phone out, and every function worked.

So the first phone passed, but there was another iPhone that needed checking out.

How the second iPhone fared during its inspection

Packaged much like the first one, this iPhone 14 Pro had its factory peel plus a charger and cable.

Outwardly, it was cleaner than the other phone, with a cleaner screen and no marks or scuffs on the side.

The battery health was higher than that of the other phone at 83 percent versus 80 percent.

Once again, the iPhone was put through the diagnostic testing, and it passed all of those as well.

Inside this second phone, it was just as clean and in good order as the last one.

The question is, how much did these phones sell for on Temu?

At the end of the video, the YouTuber revealed that each phone cost $858 Canadian.

That is a lot of money, so perhaps Temu isn’t the place to go for a refurbished iPhone.
