This man is selling his old Dodge Charger, which was left in a barn for 43 years after he last saw it.

The seller, username gbfan57 on eBay, put up the 1968 car for auction and shared the story of how the car came into his life twice.

He said that he first purchased it in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1974 when he was just a teenager.

In 1981, he had to head southwards for South Carolina and left his car behind for ‘career reasons’.

How this man was reunited with his Dodge Charger

Having parked it at his in-law’s farm just outside Owensboro, Kentucky, it has remained in that exact spot ever since.

He said he’d planned to get it up and running again, but life responsibilities and his own health issues got in the way.

Therefore he decided to sell it on, hoping somebody else might bring it up to scratch.

The Dodge is an automatic with bucket seats and a center console.

This seller is the car’s second owner, so it only has a modest 80,000 miles on the odometer.

A mere drop in the bucket compared to the world’s highest mileage sports car, which is also based in Kentucky incidentally.

As evident by the photos shared on the eBay page, the car will need quite a bit of TLC to be road ready.

You’d have to start with a good thorough clean and some new tires.

How much is the car going for on eBay?

Currently, the highest bid is $27,400, with 49 being placed overall.

The auction ends on September 14th, at which point one person will get to take this vintage car home.

With over 1,000 people viewing the car in the last 24 hours and 585 watching it, this is set to be a competitive auction.

Plenty of interesting cars have been put up on eBay in recent years, including the car that once belonged to the Shah of Iran – and helped his family escape the revolution.

If done up right, this would be a worthwhile project.

The 1968 model was first sold for $3,014, with the one up for auction carrying a 383hp four-barrel engine.
