A man discovered this super rare 1967 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible in a barn and it’s in great condition.

The US muscle car was launched back in 1964, with production of the first generation 442 running until 1967.

Six decades on from their launch, the Oldsmobile 442 is a desirable vintage vehicle for collectors.

One lucky man happened to find a rare  1967 Convertible 442 model tucked away in a barn.

The 1967 Oldsmobile 442 is in solid condition

Often, when people make vintage barn finds, the cars are in less-than-great condition – such as this rusty 1970 Dodge Challenger that was parked for 20 years or this poor old 1965 Nova that was parked up since 1983 and no longer running.

Fortunately, that doesn’t seem to have been the case with this 442.

The finder, who has listed the car on eBay, doesn’t reveal the circumstances but does say that it’s an ‘all original barn find’ and describes it as a ‘survivor real deal’.

The classic car appears to be in great shape although it does have some rust problems on the floors, causing some small holes – but the owner says you can still stand inside without issue.

The rest of the bodywork looks to have held up well, but the front fenders and lower windshield may also need some work.

The vintage convertible is a rare model

The listing goes on to say the top still works and that the car has power steering and power brakes.

The seller says the 442 has had some recent maintenance work, including clutch, tires, and brake fixes

Under the hood, you’ll find a 400 cubic inch four-barrel engine with a four-speed transmission and a dual exhaust system.

The seller says this helps to make the car rare – with only 1,100 convertible cars leaving the Oldsmobile factory with that engine set-up.

The seller says the vintage motor runs and drives as is or would be ‘easy’ to restore to its full former glory.

“This is a very, very sold untouched car, and it drives like it,” he notes.
