Man shares the three things he wished he knew before buying new Tesla Model 3, one year later

This man has shared the three things he wished he was aware of before he bought his new Tesla Model 3 and decided to reminisce about the buying process one year later.

When he was looking into buying a Tesla EV, he described the pure amount of research he did when he was looking into it.

There were many factors in play when it came to buying the new Tesla Model 3 and he’s certainly enjoyed his experience with his new EV.

He has three things he told his social media followers to consider when buying a new Tesla and one reason why not everyone should buy one.

The three things he wished he knew about his Tesla Model 3

This TikTok content creator spent a lot of time researching all of the things that could possibly go wrong when he wanted to buy a Tesla Model 3.

Now, a year on, he wanted to share with his followers the things he wished he’d have known before he bought his new EV.

Firstly, he said: “I had the home charger installed by an electrician,”

He added: “If you – for whatever reason – can’t do that, I do not recommend this car.”

While the Tesla Supercharger network is extremely good, surge pricing on chargers and having to wait a long time to have the chance to charge your EV can make public charging more of a nuisance than helpful.

He also thinks that whatever is the advertised range figure on your Tesla, you need to understand that due to normal driving habits, the EV will probably only ever do 75 percent of its advertised range.

Tesla insurance costs less than you think

The second thing that the content creator brought up was the fact that he was worried about insurance being too expensive as it would be high because he’s only 21.

However he signed up for Tesla insurance directly and you’re charged based on your driving safety score, so for him it’s only $150 a month, give or take a $5-10 here or there.

He hasn’t yet filed a claim on his insurance, so that is something he will have to factor in, as he doesn’t know how forgiving Tesla is.

Finally, he says on his car: “I have not done a single lick of maintenance since I’ve gotten this car.

“That actually is a lie. I did put windshield wiper fluid in the front. But with my old car just the constant oil changes, […]

“This car literally acts like a phone. Like it is a driving iPhone.”

It seems like the EV driver is pretty smitten with his new whip, and long may it continue.
