One man has splashed out a stellar $1,500 ticket to get in the cockpit of the historic Boeing B-29 Superfortress, taking off from Wisconsin to fulfill a lifelong dream.

Boeing has made a number of iconic aircraft over the years.

However, none more so than the B-29 Superfortress, renowned for its involvement in the United States during WWII and other conflicts.

One, nicknamed Doc with a picture of Snow White’s dwarven ally painted to its exterior, has now flown a British man around Wisconsin in a dream come true.

Wisconsin man jets off in ‘dream’ Boeing B-29 Superfortress ride

Since the 1940s, Boeing has advanced airplane technology forward like no other company in the world.

Recently, the Boeing 777X showcased how far the planes had come with its almost vertical spaceship-like take-off.

But the Boeing B-29 Superfortress is a blast from the past and is equally as fabled as some of the first 737s.

UK man Noel Philips, an award-winning blogger on YouTube, has now gotten front-row seats in a Superfortress after securing this once-in-a-lifetime ticket worth $1,500.

The plane is only one of two that are still flying, and it took Noel on a trip over the Oshkosh Air Show, where NASA’s impressive Super Guppy plane was on display.

The $1,500 ticket earned him the cockpit view, while other seats within the plane were priced at a ‘couple of hundred dollars’.

Once airborne, the 30-minute flight circled low of some lovely Wisconsin scenery, including Lake Winnebago, before landing softly back in Appleton.

So, was it worth the money, and was this actually a dream ride?

Well, Noel backed the steep price as something that would help preserve a part of history, and claimed that the flight was ‘Just absolutely incredible’.

To him, it was money very well spent, and he urged other airplane fanatics to consider getting involved in supporting the Boeing B-29 Superfortress.

For Boeing, focus has shifted very much towards the future, rather than preserving its legacy, as the X-37B Spacecraft appears to be pivoting them toward unchartered territory – literally and figuratively.
