British YouTuber Simon Wilson has ticked off the most expensive first class flight experience possible: a night inside The Residence, on an Etihad Airways A380.

He documented every second of the over-the-top journey, from a chauffeur pickup in Dubai to waking up in a double bed at 40,000 feet.

His mission was simple: find out if a five-figure plane ticket could ever truly be worth it.

By the end of the experience, he had a pretty simple answer to that question.

Every part of the journey was over the top

Wilson’s trip began long before takeoff.

Etihad Airways provide a complimentary chauffeur for customers booked in The Residence, so he was picked up by his personal driver close to midnight.

After driving from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, staff personally escorted him through the airport.

Instead of sitting at a crowded gate, he was taken to a private lounge room, complete with restaurant-quality dining.

He was even given a complimentary spa massage.

By the time boarding was called, the YouTuber looked more relaxed than most people after a holiday.

Then came the main event.

The Residence, available only on Etihad’s Airbus A380, is not a seat but a three-room suite in the sky.

Wilson had a living room with a sofa and large screen, a private bathroom with a shower, and a separate bedroom with a full-length double bed.

He changed into designer pajamas, shut his own door, and stretched out under a duvet while cruising above Europe.

This makes flying first-class in the US feel more like taking a greyhound bus in comparison.

Was the most expensive first class flight in the world worth it?

The service on board the Etihad Airways flight matched the surroundings.

A dedicated crew member looked after him throughout the seven-hour flight to London, preparing his bed, serving drinks, and cooking breakfast to order before landing.

His morning meal included steak, an omelette, pastries, fruit, and endless tea and coffee.

Even small details, from luxury toiletries to noise-canceling headphones, reinforced the sense that no corners had been cut.

The big question was whether it justified the price, which can climb well beyond ten thousand dollars one way.

Wilson admitted it is far from everyday travel, but as a once-in-a-lifetime experience, he called it unforgettable.

For most of us, the most expensive first class flight in the world remains pure aviation fantasy.

However, through his lens, we do manage to get a rare look at how the other half flies, which is pretty awesome.
