A man traveled across the United States to Illinois for a dream Chevrolet Chevelle muscle car, only for disaster to quickly strike.
American Jon Dega posted his adventure on his YouTube channel, where he was asked to find the car by a client for someone’s birthday.
He had spent nearly $100,000 to secure the Chevelle Super Sport, but sadly missed a whole bunch of red flags that were apparent when he inspected the muscle car.
However, there is always another side to the story, and the dealership has since responded to clarify the situation.

The Chevrolet Chevelle looked great on the outside
Outwardly, there appeared to be nothing wrong with the American muscle car.
It rocked its deep red color.
The red was complemented by a gorgeous black interior, and the car looked to tick all of Jon’s boxes.
But further issues arose when the American began to take a closer look at it.

There was quite a long list of issues, most of which were mechanical problems.
The 396ci V8 engine idled too high and misfired, while it also kept stalling on the move.
There was also an oil leak on both valve covers, and the rear suspension felt very ‘floaty.’
More problems turned the Chevelle into a nightmare
A broken parking brake and faulty air conditioning simply added to the woes of the muscle car.
The motor for the AC blower simply stopped blowing, and Jon was frustrated with the car.
However, things became even worse when Jon got in touch with the dealership he had bought the car from.
He emailed them about the muscle car, with a list of everything wrong with it.
The dealership clarified the story on their website
Since the video went on YouTube, the dealer, Volo Cars, has clarified what really went on.
It turns out that, according to Volo, that the buyer decided to bypass an inspection process so he could get the car delivered on time.
An inspection would have meant that any issues would have been identified with the Chevelle and dealt with.
Volo also said that the buyer breached a refund agreement, as they were happy to refund if he had taken the video down.

But following that, the buyer kept the video up and then demanded an extra $5,000 on top of the agreed refund amount.
On May 3rd, Volo retracted their refund offer, and they have detailed the entire saga on their own website with screenshots of their communications as proof.
As of May 6th, 2025, Dega has taken the video down, originally uploaded on April 29th, from his YouTube channel; now the other side of the story has been told.
The openness and honesty of the situation from Volo are to be applauded.
Hopefully, it clarifies to those who saw the video just what exactly transpired with the Chevrolet.
