This junkyard find could be the best ever, as one man well and truly hit the jackpot after years of hard negotiations.
Forget any car you’ve seen before, as standard junkers are worlds away from this unique machine
However, securing the car was a whole mission in itself.
And, the new owner was willing to do whatever it would take to call the car his own, even when it wasn’t for sale.

This junkyard find truly was one of a kind
Every car enthusiast dreams of saving a vehicle in need and making it road-ready again, but after visiting the junkyard, this man left with one huge surprise.
Talking to the YouTube channel VINwiki, Sam from Hardup Garage revealed how he managed to scout out the original Lightning McQueen from the classic Disney movie Cars.

Having a passion for all things car-related, Sam couldn’t wait to call a powerful auto his own, and when he stumbled across the junkyard relic, his mind was well and truly blown.
Made as a replica, the car had a plate inside that confirmed it really was authentic, and a dream come true for Sam.
The car was 15 feet long, made of fibreglass, and bore graphics that were strikingly similar to those on screen.

Perhaps though, the winning element was the huge NASCAR wheels with one-of-one rubber wheels.
The replica was part of a sorry story, with the Cars character originally meant to be crushed; however, in a turn of events, it was hidden away and saved by an owner until he passed away.
Years later, the car still wasn’t for sale, but Sam had hope that he would one day call it his own, labeling it ‘the rarest body NASCAR in the world’.
Here’s what he did to secure Lightning McQueen for himself
After catching sight of McQueen, Sam was willing to put in a hard graft to secure the Disney goods.
So, in a bid to make the owner’s sweet tooth a selling point, he revealed that he’d even taken to offering boxes of donuts, with hopes of landing an offer in the near future.
And, as luck would have it, his hard work eventually paid off, and the vehicle only actually cost him $750 after half a decade of talks.
Expecting to pay a huge sum of over $10,000, the agreed-upon value was surely a nice surprise.
However, the love affair wasn’t set to last forever. He was offered such a large sum for the car to be taken out of his hands that he let it go.
Don’t fear, though, as he had been promised that a fibreglass mold of Lightning McQueen would be made to keep the memory of the iconic junkyard find alive and kicking.
It’s true what they say, life really is a highway.
