It’s no secret that Mat Armstrong has spent a long time working on this wrecked Rolls-Royce that used to belong to UK soccer star Marcus Rashford, but how did the player react to his project?

For Armstrong, fixing up the wrecked Wraith was no small undertaking – he spent $420,000 doing so.

It wasn’t an easy road, with frequent issues arising along the way.

And Marcus Rashford did his part to help out where he could.

How Marcus Rashford responded to Mat Armstrong trying to fix up his wrecked Rolls-Royce

Let’s go back to this story’s beginnings.

Years ago, Rashford treated himself to a Rolls-Royce Wraith, but it ended up getting totaled.

Not that it put the British athlete off of the brand – as his purchase of a $800,000 Wraith demonstrated.

YouTuber Mat Armstrong entered the picture and did his best to rebuild it, despite the issues that came along with that undertaking.

To do that, he needed replacement parts, which he got from YouTuber Tavarish’s project car – a Rolls-Royce Wraith – named ‘Sue’.

As you might expect, word of the project made its way back to Rashford, and his team reached out to Armstrong.

They offered him several spare parts from the car, including a key, tracker info, and other items to assist with the restoration.

Rashford’s team also provided Mansory accessories like a grill, mats, and a car cover, which made the rebuild smoother for Armstrong and helped him to bring the car back to its glory days.

Obviously, Armstrong was very grateful for the help and wanted to do something to show his appreciation.

He announced that he would sell tickets for the chance to win a signed piece of the car – and the proceeds of that would go to FareShare, a food charity that Rashford supports.

Based in Rashford’s home city of Manchester, it’s the UK’s largest network of charitable food redistributors, providing food for homeless shelters, school breakfast clubs, and community cafes.

Armstrong is no stranger to a big car project

Let’s face it, Armstrong doesn’t make life easy for himself with some of these car restorations.

Lest we forget, Mansory even got involved at one point and was asking for the Rolls-Royce to be returned to them.

It was a long saga, to say the least.

But he’s a trier, and we can all respect that.
