Tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee made two separate bets with both Tesla and his followers regarding the Tesla Cybercab.
So far, he’s won the first bet, technically, and there are only three months to go for the second one.
What’s funny is that some people argue that he’s actually lost the first one as well.
But, knowing Tesla, we may already know who’s going to win the second bet.
This is what Marques Brownlee had initially said
When the Tesla Cybercab was first launched, Musk said it’d become a ‘regular’ production vehicle by 2026.
Back then, tech and car YouTuber Marques Brownlee (MKBHD) made a significant bet.
He believed there was no way this would actually be possible and told his viewers that he would shave his head if this actually happened.
It didn’t.
2024, 2025 and, so far, 2026 went by with no production in sight.
It’s true that the Cybercab has indeed been unveiled, but, for now, it is only as an alternative option to Robotaxis, and only available in Austin, Texas.
So this isn’t a production model yet.
And now he’s decided to double down on his bet.
Tesla has three months to left to ‘win’ the bet
In a recent video, Marques Brownlee made it clear that his bet stated he would shave his head if the Cybercab was unveiled as a production vehicle anyone could buy from a Tesla dealer.
That hasn’t happened yet, and so Brownlee decided to double down with a new bet.
If Tesla delivers Cybercab as a production vehicle – not just an option in Austin, Texas – by the end of the year, he’ll shave his head, as promised.
However, if they don’t, then somebody else should.
In the video, he invited his viewers to take him up on this bet.
“If they don’t, tag me if you take me up on it – and you shave your head,” he said.
With three months to go, time is running out.
And somebody’s barber should be getting ready.
