Mate Rimac has a truly incredible collection of cars in his personal garage.
Of course, that is to be expected when you’re the CEO of Bugatti and Rimac Automobili.
The Croatian entrepreneur recently decided to give a tour of his personal garage.
But the most out-of-place car out of them all is his prized daily driver.

Mate Rimac has a stellar supercar collection – but one stands out
Mate Rimac is, of course, an extremely important figure in today’s supercar industry.
The Bugatti and Rimac CEO is at the forefront of some incredible technological developments.
One thing that most car fans love about Mate Rimac is the level of accessibility he provides.
And that is because the Croatian is incredibly active on his social media, regularly offering insights into both his professional and personal life.
During the last few days, Rimac took his fans on a tour of his personal garage.
Of course, the exotic nature of the majority of the collection will not shock you.

A plethora of Ferrari supercars can be seen alongside a stunning Porsche Carrera GT.
But there is one dark blue car that stands out on its own among the rest.
It doesn’t stand out because it is a 1,000hp monster or a multi-million-dollar hypercar.
As a matter of fact, it could not be farther from either of those things.
Because the car in question is a very well-cared-for example of a Volkswagen Golf R32.
Bugatti CEO drives his Volkswagen Golf R32 for a humble reason
Yes, you read that right – the Bugatti and Rimac CEO daily drives a Golf R32.
Okay, at this point, you probably have one extremely glaring question:
‘Why does a CEO worth $2 billion use a Volkswagen Golf R32 as his daily driver?’
Well, it turns out that there is a very simple reason.
Balance is a constant – and extremely important – theme in Rimac’s collection.
For every supercar you will see, there is a much more humble counterweight.
His BMW E30 M3, for instance, is one he calls his ‘true love.’

Most of the cars Rimac owns bring him back to the dreams and aspirations of his youth.
And this is why Mate Rimac uses his Volkswagen Golf R32 as his daily driver.
It is important to him because it reminds him of his dreams when he was 19 or 20.
The 3.2-liter VR6 engine doesn’t exactly match the performance of his SLR McLaren or his Carrera GT.
But his compact Golf R32 provides the CEO with just as much fun and enjoyment.
And that is what cars were always designed to be for fans – something to enjoy and cherish.
