Someone in Colorado had their Jeep Compass SUV rolled down the side of a steep hill, and its rescuers were baffled when they saw its condition.

The SUV had flipped to its side and gotten itself stuck between two trees and was pretty banged up.

But its rescuers were professionals, and while even they were shocked, they figured out a plan to save it.

Looking at its condition, it’s no wonder why nobody else wanted to touch it before them.

Jeep Compass stuck on a mountain in Colorado

The guys from the Matt’s Off Road Recovery YouTube channel got a call about a Jeep Compass stuck on a mountain in Colorado.

In a recent video, they only received images of the car and didn’t think it was too much trouble.

However, as soon as they arrived in the area, the rescuers realized it was much worse than it looked.

Yep, they hadn’t even reached the exact location and were already intimidated by the terrain.

For context, these guys are pros, and it wasn’t their first rodeo when it comes to challenging terrain.

They recently rescued a stuck Ford truck that nobody else would go near.

Or that one time they saved a Jeep Wrangler EV stuck in Utah dunes, for that matter.

Case in point — this Jeep was in a tough spot, but it wasn’t an impossible rescue.

As for the SUV itself, it had flipped to its side and gotten itself support from two trees on the hill, which prevented it from going even farther down.

Pulling off the impossible rescue job

The team used three winches to free it from the tress and eventually flip it back on its wheels.

Now that it was standing straight up, it looked like a simple pulling job.

There was, however, more trouble than they expected.

The e-brake was engaged, and the team could not disengage it without a battery jumper pack, which they didn’t have.

On top of that, the rear wheels weren’t rolling at all despite the Jeep’s transmission on drive, and one of the front wheels was broken.

Essentially, they knew then and there that they would have to drag it through the mud all the way up to the road.

After spending quite some time figuring out angles and using just one functional wheel, they somehow got it back up.

This adventure was oddly similar to that one time they rescued a Ram pickup truck from a rocky mountain.

Although this Jeep Compass was in a sticky situation, it was eventually rescued successfully.

It would probably need more than a few repairs, but the owner will decide what to do with it.
