The Monaco GP will go down in history as arguably the most important F1 Grand Prix for McLaren so far.
That’s because this race marks their historic 1,000th Grand Prix start.
The British marque decided to celebrate with a limited-edition Artura.
And for once, ‘limited-edition’ is an expression that’s being used fairly.
It all started with the Monaco GP in 1966
Their first Grand Prix took place in May 1966, exactly 60 years ago – and, remarkably, it was also in Monaco.
At the Monte Carlo racetrack, when founder Bruce McLaren started as the team’s sole entry and finished with a retirement (DNF) due to an oil leak.
Fast-forward to 2026, and the brand is celebrating its 1000th race.

Only Ferrari can boast more GP starts.
So far, they have won 188 of those 1,000 races, with over 6,900 points in total, 523 podiums and also 169 fastest laps.
So, here’s 1,000 more.
The McLaren Artura 1000GP is very, very rare

Based on the standard Artura, the Artura 1000GP is defined by its MSO Heritage Metallic Papaya paint, with Anthracite and Satin Carbon accents and a special livery that’s a tribute to these 1,000 F1 GPs.
Aside from the custom race livery and the anniversary badging, you can also find more details and nods to this incredible achievement in the cabin, with bespoke embroidered Alcantara for the seats and a numbered MSO dedication plaque

Mechanically, the 1000GP is the same as any Artura.
Under the hood, you’ll find a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged hybrid V6, capable of delivering 690 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque..
It does 0-60 in 3 seconds and has a top speed of 205 mph.

The price hasn’t been announced, but the standard Artura starts at $249,000, so we can expect to double it or maybe triple it.
It’ll be very difficult to buy in either case.
Only 10 were made.
