A new American EV company is on its way and it will be bringing affordable electric cars to the masses.
Slate is a new company looking to go head-to-head with Tesla.
Its a start-up run by a group of auto industry veterans, with women taking the lead as the CEO and head of design.
We know little about it yet, but it’s bound to shake up the world of EVs as we know it.

Who is this new EV company entering the competitive market?
There’s no two ways about it – EVs are big business nowadays.
Tesla has long been the reigning champion of the market, with its Cybertrucks and Model Ys ruling the roost.
But challengers have been popping up all over the place.

Domestically, we’ve seen a lot of mainstream manufacturers producing their own EVs, from Toyota to BMW.
Over in China, companies like BYD and Li Auto are producing cars sure to make western competitors feeling nervous.
And that’s not to mention the endless startups, like the one started by former Tesla employees.
Suffice to say, it’s a crowded market.
So, what’s one more company to add to the mix?
We present to you – Slate.
Not much is known about this company as of yet, but we’re excited about what we’ve heard so far.
They shared a glimpse of their car exclusively with Newsweek.

Well, we say that – you can’t see much of the car.
The US publication created a camouflage wrap for the car.
Describing the car, the weekly news magazine wrote: “Newsweek was given the unique opportunity to design a camouflage wrap for a brand-new vehicle—not just to disguise specific features underneath, but to also show off a brand-new electric truck to the public for the first time.”
What do we know about this company?
The Newsweek article didn’t give us ton of specific details about Slate, but it hinted at enough to get us excited.
Describing the car as a ‘radically simple solution to the affordable car’, Newsweek said that more information would be coming out about ‘America’s next disruptor’ in the next few days.
The company is run by a group of ‘auto industry veterans and American industry leaders’.
It’s a company evidently all about the girl power, with a woman CEO and head of design.
Besides that, not much else has been revealed.

You may recall that sightings of a supposed Slate Auto truck were being reported online.
The Michigan company has enjoyed the support of none other than Jeff Bezos himself.
Reports indicated that the truck was expected to go as cheap as $25,000.
But, this has all been hearsay up until now.
A full reveal has been promised for April 24, so we’ll get some conclusive answers then.
We wait with bated breath and can’t wait to see what is coming our way.
