Mercedes-Benz and Microsoft teamed up to create a version of Teams you can use on the go.
It’s every CEO’s dream, isn’t it?
The feature works exactly like you think it might.
But there’s a catch.

The one thing you won’t be able to do while using Teams in your car
Mercedes-Benz and Microsoft teamed up for Teams.
Apologies for the cheesy and very predictable pun.
Jokes aside, Microsoft created a version of Teams that’s optimized to work in any Mercedes that uses the MBUX system, which is basically Mercedes’ in-house CarPlay feature.
The idea is that you can join or start a Teams meeting/call in the car without using your phone or your laptop.
We’ll leave it up to you to decide whether that’s good news or bad news.

We should point out, however, that the feature is only available when the car is stationary.
If you’re in a Teams meeting and start driving, you’ll still be included in the call but your video stream will automatically turn off to prevent distractions.
This is becoming a recurring theme
This sort of thing is becoming quite common.
Cars are essentially becoming giant smartphones on wheels, with their own operating system and software.
They’re constantly connected to the internet, and both automakers and tech companies are making the most of that.
Mercedes, which was one of the first automakers to integrate social media in its cars’ screens, is currently developing a new alternative to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with BMW and VW.
And there’s one thing that all these systems have in common.
For obvious safety reasons, they never work when the car is moving.
