Michigan Grattan Raceway is a hidden gem of a racetrack.
Situated around two-and-a-half hours from Detroit, it’s beautiful, as well as being a true driving test.
Despite being such a fascinating track, the Michigan Grattan Raceway is under threat.
As a matter of fact, it risks vanishing entirely unless somebody pays the $15 million asking price to save it.

Michigan Grattan Raceway up for sale once again
Michigan Grattan Raceway is under threat of vanishing from the motorsport map.
That is because the racetrack, located just over two hours from Detroit, is once again up for sale.
The track was first listed for sale back in 2023, but it wasn’t originally listed with an asking price.
Michigan Grattan Raceway has now been re-listed, and this time it does come with an official price.
If you happen to be interested in the listing, the official asking price is $15 million for the track.

In fairness, you get a whole lot more for your money than just a pleasant ribbon of tarmac.
Michigan Grattan Raceway comes as part of a wider, 190-acre territory.
The 2.0 mile race course comes alongside a 3,200 foot straightaway.
The facilities also include 1.25-mile motocross track inside its boundaries.
It is a pretty beautiful facility that even comes with covered seating for fans and a private pool.
Why is the hidden gem of a track being sold?
So, why exactly is Michigan Grattan Raceway being sold if it is so nice?
Speaking to Fox 17, the co-owner of the track, Kurt Faasen, explained his reasoning.
“I’m 72; it’s getting about that time where, you know, you can’t work forever, even though I probably would,” the track co-owner explained.
Faasen also shared some fascinating history of the track during his 65 years of co-ownership.
Stars and celebrities, from Paul Newman to Walter Payton and Tom Cruise, have all graced the track.
Throughout its 65-year history, the racetrack has been owned by the same family.
Unfortunately, like many racetracks, this Michigan gem has been struggling recently.
Many tracks are being bought up and demolished by real estate developers.
We certainly hope that Michigan Grattan Raceway does not follow that same path.
