Mom takes 'ultra-futuristic' Tesla Model Y for a test drive and reviews it as a family car, comes away with an overwhelming conclusion

An American TikToker has gone viral after reviewing the Tesla Model Y from the perspective of a mom looking for a good family car.

She went in skeptical, thinking that it would be overwhelming and have too much technology to handle for a standard family car.

The content creator listed many reasons as to why Teslas should not be written off as family cars, and demonstrated how the car’s features can assist in normal family life.

She was clearly pleasantly surprised by the experience and fears she is ‘obsessed’ with the car and all of its features.

Ultra futuristic, a good family car or both?

American TikToker Taylor Victoria (@taaylorvictoriaa) is known for her videos about her experience as a stay at home mom.

When Tesla offered her a test drive of the ‘ultra futuristic’ Tesla Model Y, she jumped at the chance to review it to see if it held up as a family car.

She described her initial skepticism about the car and her worries that there would be too much ‘on the screen’, she found herself pleasantly surprised when it was manageable and easy to use.

@taaylorvictoriaa not an ad but i fear i am obsessed with this vehicle pros: minimal aesthetic, smooth drive, comfy, tons of space for the size, cool tech features cons: regen breaking is a learning curve, don't love the door handles, not super quiet when driving, not ideal for larger families #teslamodely #modelyfamilycar #momcar #teslareview ♬ Chill Day – LAKEY INSPIRED

Despite not having driven electric before, she appreciated the fact that the dashboard console screen told you the battery percentage.

She clearly had no issue using the vehicle, unlike these streamers who struggled to even open the door on a Tesla Cybertruck they were reviewing.

She also mentioned the plentiful storage space for a relatively small SUV, the wireless charging functionality, as well as the back seat capacity which is incredibly important for children’s car seat safety.

Her conclusion

Although a mother’s first choice of family car may not be a Tesla, it seems as though Taylor is a convert.

In the caption of her TikTok she wrote that she fears that she’s ‘obsessed’ with the car.

It seems that car manufacturers should follow Tesla’s lead when it comes to targeting the family car market and prioritise a capacious backseat and plenty of storage, they may find themselves becoming the new must-have family car!

It seems like Taylor will be keeping her Tesla on the ground, unlike this man who turned his family car into a helicopter.
