This 1940s crate was uncovered with an amazing surprise inside

As the saying goes, the best things come in small packages, and this crate proved exactly that.

In fact, a group of motorcycle enthusiasts unearthed a huge surprise inside a crate that hadn’t been opened for over half a century.

Over on the Wheels Through Time YouTube channel, the crate was presented to the gearheads, and they simply had to have a look.

Now, these guys aren’t strangers when it comes to finding interesting objects, but this one may be one of the best.

The crate was some 85 years old and had never actually seen the light of day before it ended up in the safe hands of the motorbike lovers.

Of course, as with any surprise, there was a chance that the contents of the 1940s crate were trash, but once the box was prised open, their expectations were well and truly surpassed.

“A 1940s Indian crate motor, this thing has never been opened,” explained the content creator.

And, after unboxing it, what was inside was astonishing

“It’s a brand new 1941 Indian military scout engine,” he continued.

The motor was pristine, in amazing condition, and intact too, with the crate having protected it incredibly well.

Let’s face it, it’s rare to be able to say that something is both old and yet brand new at the same time.

Motorcycle enthusiasts couldn’t believe the contents

After the incredible motor surprise was uncovered, other people couldn’t believe the gamble had paid off.

“That crate deserved to be preserved. It’s as rare as the engine,” said one impressed viewer.

“Wow, it’s a straight-up time capsule. I hope you guys preserve it well,” commented another fan.

“That’s wild. To say something is brand new after 80 years is incredible. But it’s true,” said a third.

Remarkably, though, it’s not the first gamble we’ve witnessed at Supercar Blondie.

For example, a Nashville man was sent a giant crate by Harley-Davidson but didn’t know why he ended up with it, or what its contents included.

Plus, a Canadian bought a 70-year-old unused Rolls-Royce crate engine and was unsure what to expect from his purchase.
