This is an ultra-rare manual Plymouth Road Runner from the 1970s – one of the most iconic muscle car legends – and it’s in absolute perfect condition.
It’s one of only 55 Road Runners equipped with a Hemi V8.
And one of only 28 models that was also equipped with the coveted four-speed manual.
This one is currently available from SBX Cars with surprisingly low mileage.

The legend of the Beep-Beep Bird muscle car
One of the coolest things about the Plymouth Road Runner was its (not at all) subtle nod to the Looney Tunes character, Road Runner.
In the 1960s, Plymouth wanted to create a fast muscle car that could outrun almost anything on the street (like its cartoon character namesake) without the high price tag of a GTX.

By 1971, the model underwent a radical redesign, moving to the ‘fuselage’ look with a shorter wheelbase and wider track for better handling.
However, 1971 also signaled the beginning of the end.
Between soaring insurance premiums and tightening emissions, the legendary 426 Hemi was in its final year of production.

Only 55 Road Runners were equipped with the Hemi that year, making it an incredibly rare find for collectors today.
A rare 4-speed survivor
The example currently offered by SBX Cars is a true ‘1 of 28’ unicorn – one of the few 1971 Hemi Road Runners equipped with the A833 4-speed manual transmission.

This restored masterpiece also features a period-correct 426 Hemi V8 with dual four-barrel carburetors, paired with its original 4-speed manual.
Showing just 19,691 miles, this triple-black Mopar is a museum-grade tribute to the golden age.

Visually, we’re looking at an example worthy of a Fast & Furious movie.
The black paint is complemented by factory-applied white strobe stripes with Road Runner graphics, chrome bumpers, Air Grabber hood pins, chrome side mirrors, and dual exhaust outlets.
The interior combines black vinyl for the door panels, dashboard, and seats, with woodgrain trim for the fascia, gear stick, instrument cluster, and steering wheel.

The car, located in West Chester, Pennsylvania, is currently available from SBX Cars.
The virtual gavel will fall on March 19, 2026.
