A mysterious electric pickup was spotted in LA, and it’s getting attention online because people think it might be linked to Jeff Bezos.
In a photo shared to Reddit, a two-door EV is seen being offloaded from a flatbed in the California city.
This comes just days after reports began circulating that the founder of Amazon was investing in a Michigan-based EV startup called Slate Auto.
And now speculation is circulating that this truck is one of the concept vehicles being shown off to investors.

The electric pickup truck linked to Jeff Bezos may have been spotted
You don’t have to be a car expert to know that EVs have been increasing in popularity in recent years.
We all know that Tesla, BYD, and Li Autos are dominating the field at the moment, but there’s new competitors entering the fray all the time.

Over in the UK, some former Tesla employees are working on an EV roadster, hoping to beat their ex-employer to the punch.
And Jeff Bezos’ name is also being mentioned in the fast developing world of EVs.
It was recently reported that he’d invested money into a Michigan-based startup that’s developing a $25,000 electric truck.
Slate Auto was set up in 2022 and has been working towards getting its EV truck into production by 2026.

However, details had been relatively scarce about what the truck looked like…until now, apparently.
What the photo shows
Posted to Reddit by user Discostranger09, the image shows the truck being unloaded from a shipping container.
Not much more information was offered beyond this image, although commenters quickly deduced it was taken somewhere in LA.
As far as we can see, the truck looks like a Ford pickup, but without the grille.

It is electric, after all.
Redditors are always keen to speculate, and this time was no exception.
While many floated the idea that this was Slate Auto’s prototype, others threw Rivian’s name into the mix.
And some people suggested this may be a one-off custom build.
But then came a report which seemed to lend some credibility to the idea that it was indeed a Slate Auto endeavour.
TechCrunch reportedly heard from an anonymous source close to the company.
“The truck pictured is, in fact, the one Slate Auto has been working on, according to a person with direct knowledge of Slate Auto’s vehicle design who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
“This person, whose identity is known to TechCrunch, said the truck is likely one of the concept vehicles the startup has created to show to potential investors,” they wrote.
One such potential investor would be the controlling owner of the LA Dodgers, Mark Walter.
We highly doubt this will be the last sighting of a Slate Auto truck that will make its way online.
