The mystery of the Tesla Cybertruck EV that infamously fell into a ditch and was totaled in 2024 has finally been solved.
For those unfamiliar with the story, a Cybertruck had gone off-road in May 2024, down a steep embankment, and rolled into a ditch that was full of water.
The electric pickup truck was badly damaged, and it looked like the EV was now beyond repair. And since then, its whereabouts have been a mystery.
However, it has now cropped up once again, with it being shipped over to Latvia and becoming the centerpiece of a repair shop called Salvage Syndicate.

How the totaled Tesla Cybertruck was acquired
Major structural damage was done to the EV, with the left side completely torn open.
Whole sections of bodywork were ripped away, the rear fender was destroyed, and wires and hoses were hanging out.
Unsurprisingly, the insurance company declared it a write-off, and it was listed for sale on Copart.
Further inspection revealed that the damage was even worse.

It was then that the team from Latvia bought the truck and decided they would do what they could to revive it.
Naturally, this meant removing pretty much everything still attached to the truck and disassembling the electronics.
The question was how much work could they really do on this truck?
Would it look like a Cybertruck again?
As a video on YouTube by the Latvian repair shop showed, they have made good progress with the EV.
Many new panels needed to be made up, but slowly, they were transforming the truck from a wreck.
One difficulty they had was getting some of the new panels to match up with some of the old ones.
The fit wasn’t always perfect, which was perhaps to be expected.

But as the video showed, the effort that went into the rebuild was unmatched.
Replacing the electronics was another task for the team, as they had been fried during the accident.
Tesla has long touted that the Cybertruck was almost indestructible, with almost being the right word in this instance.
But it looks like this particular Cybertruck might back up the manufacturer’s claim.
