This YouTuber bought an Italian-designed motorcycle that was made in China, but was surprisingly impressed with it.
Instead of receiving a shoddy product, he got a bright red motorbike that was solid quality-wise and provided many neat features.
Of course, the best part was that it only cost $6,500.
While products made in China may not always inspire the most confidence, this seems like a good buy.

A quality motorcycle with an Italian heritage
The video was uploaded by Bikes and Beards, a YouTube channel that creates motorcycle content.
At the start of the video, the channel’s host, Sean Kerr, pointed out that the motorbike is ‘designed by Italians, made by Italians, and owned by Italians.’
Which is odd, because the packaging clearly stated ‘made in China’.

Apparently, the motorbike, dubbed the X-Cape, is made by a company called Moto Morini.
The company was founded in Bologna, Italy in 1937.
Moto Morini found itself in financial trouble in 2009, and ownership was exchanged several times.
It was eventually sold to a Chinese company in 2018.
So how does the bike itself look?
Right off the bat, Kerr noted that this was the largest Chinese-made vehicle he’s ever bought, clocking in at about 513LBS.
For reference, this is heavier than the BMW M 1000RR, which clocks in at around 425LBS.
In fact, Kerr compared its wheels favourably to his BMW motorcycle, so that’s a good start.
It also has a decent-sized infotainment centre, complete with USB charging, but no USB-C, though.
Kerr then mentioned that it uses the same engine as the Kawasaki Versys 650, which is a bike he personally likes.
Made in China, but value for money
In terms of performance, Kerr took it out for a spin around the neighborhood.
On the highway, it had plenty of power, and the YouTuber found that it was quite comfortable ergonomically.
“The parallel twin engine was surprisingly smooth,” said Kerr.
He also found that it performed well on the back roads and even off-road, with adjustable suspension options.

Finally, he seems to appreciate the value for money that the bike provides.
“I was accompanied by my friend Brock, who was riding my camera bike, the BMW, which I consider to be the flagship adventure bike,” said Kerr.
“The X-Cape is not going to compare well to the BMW, but for the quarter of the price, it’s even making me consider my options.”
