Almost two years ago exactly, Bugatti made a landmark announcement.

The iconic French hypercar marque announced its new flagship model.

Having served since 2016, the Chiron has proven to be an unbelievable success.

But, with nine years of service, Bugatti decided it was time for an update.

To that end, the marque announced its newest flagship – the Bugatti Tourbillon.

And fans across the globe should be extremely excited about what’s coming.

CEO Mate Rimac confirmed that the Bugatti Tourbillon is coming with a hybrid powertrain.

Back in February, the CEO revealed some extremely exciting shakedown testing footage.

It is powered by a Cosworth-developed, naturally aspirated, 8.3-liter V16 engine.

This petrol powerplant will produce 986HP at 9,000RPM on its own.

And this power is supplied by a trio of electric motors.

With two electric motors mounted at a front and a third on the rear, these motors will produce 789HP.

This combined power output comes to a mammoth 1,775HP.

Over this past weekend, a fascinating Instagram post started making waves.

The post, created by carsbylex, comes to us from the United Arab Emirates.

While the specific UAE location isn’t clear, the star of the video very much is.

Because it’s a pre-production prototype of the Tourbillon.

The Tourbillon appears to be undergoing extreme weather testing.

Apart from testing the ICE-powered Cosworth engine, another set of test is vital.

It’s extremely important to test the hybrid system in extreme weather conditions.

With the Tourbillon undergoing extreme weather testing, Bugatti appears to be firmly on schedule.

We can’t wait to see them officially hit the roads!
