This dad from New Hampshire says he’s been left shocked by how much it costs to charge his Cybertruck and says he feels like a fool for buying it.
After buying the Tesla truck and comparing the costs to those of his old ICE car, he says he feels as if he’s made the wrong investment.
He came up with both pros and cons of driving the EV, but said a road trip from West Palm Beach to Tampa really hammered home issues with the truck.
He came to one solid conclusion about his Cybertruck and EVs in general, and for this New Hampshire dad, EVs didn’t come out on top.

This New Hampshire dad decided that he was going to do a road trip with his family from West Palm Beach to Tampa using the family Cybertruck, which he bought for quite a lot of money.
The EV cost him $116,000, but came without autopilot and had limited cruise control due to a recall.
When he set off on the road trip, he had a lot of range anxiety and said he was constantly worried about the scarcity of public charging points.
When he did find public charging points, he said there was always a long wait to use them.
The YouTuber said he had to stop after 98 miles to charge the Cybertruck, and when he did, it cost him $38 to charge from 30 percent to full charge.
He compared this to what it cost his mom to fill up her hybrid car, revealing it cost her $27 and that got over 400 miles out of the tank.
After his trip, he decided to buy and install an at-home charger so he had less of a worry about range anxiety.
The Cybertruck owner said it wasn’t all negative.
He said one positive with the Cybertruck was that it charged quickly.

Unfortunately, he also said battery efficiency dropped noticeably when he drove quickly.
After buying the Cybertruck and getting behind the wheel, this New Hampshire dad said he felt like a bit of a fool because it cost him so much more to charge it than it would have cost him to fill up a regular tank.
