An image teasing the new Shelby Mustang has been shared online, and it looks incredible.

The mystery car is set to be unveiled at Monterey Car Week later this month.

The upcoming car is based on the latest-generation S650 Mustang.

But, of course, it will have been given its very own Shelby twist.

The new Shelby Mustang will premiere later this month

Shelby America is behind some of the rarest – and coolest – Mustangs in the world, like the iconic Shelby GT350R, which made a comeback earlier this year

However, as Thomas Shelby’s favorite car was always ‘the next one’, Shelby isn’t resting on its laurels.

In a post on Instagram, Shelby shared a sneak peek at its upcoming vehicle.

“A new chapter in performance, heritage, and innovation begins,” a caption on the post read.

The teaser image doesn’t give much away, but it shows the unmistakable tri-bar taillights of the S650 Mustang.

The car looks like it will be wider than the standard ‘Stang and will feature a swan-neck rear wing mounted high on the trunk.

Being a Shelby Mustang, we can also expect there to be some interesting changes under the hood.

For now, no additional details have been but for what it’s worth, the 2025 Shelby GT350 was given a 5.0-liter Ford V8 engine paired with a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger that produces more than 800 horsepower.

Over on Facebook, one fan questioned whether the new car could be an EV, but Shelby was quick to confirm that wasn’t the case.

Thankfully, there isn’t too long to wait until Shelby reveals all.

The car will be making its first public appearance on August 13 at Monterey Car Week.

No word from Ford on the upcoming Mustang

While Ford has worked with Shelby in the past to create cars such as the GT350 and GT500, this new vehicle appears to be made entirely independently.

The companies last collaborated on the 2022 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.

Instead, it seems Ford is keen to focus on its own beefed-up models, like the 500hp Mustang Dark Horse.
